HOW IT WORKS

Collagen rebuild injections contain poly-L-lactic acid, which is naturally broken down by the body. They are injected beneath the skin’s surface and as the microparticles are absorbed, they encourage the body to rebuild its own collagen, gently restoring skin structure and volume. 

Collagen rebuild injections are used to treat the face (excluding lips and around the eyes), hands, neck and décolletage.  

RESULTS

Results appear gradually but are enduring, lasting up to two years. Three to four treatments over six months are recommended initially for optimum results. Results can then be maintained with one treatment a year. 

TREATMENT PREPARATION
  • Avoid blood-thinning medication such as aspirin, ibuprofen and fish oil, one week prior  

 

WHAT TO EXPECT

Prior to your first treatment, our doctor will consult with you to assess your suitability for collagen rebuild injections and discuss any concerns or questions.   

The procedure involves a small amount of the prescribed product being administered into the selected areas using  a very fine needle. The injections contain a local anaesthetic, (in some instances a numbing agent may be used).  

WHO IS NOT SUITABLE

Anyone who: 

  • Is hypersensitive to ingredients including poly-L-lactic acid 
  • Is pregnant or breastfeeding 
  • Is under the age of 18 
  • Has an acute or chronic infection 
  • Has a history of, or susceptibility to, keloid formation or hypertrophic scarring 
  • Has skin sores, cysts, pimples, rashes, hives or infection at the treatment area
  • Has had any cosmetic injectable treatment (excluding anti-wrinkle) within the last 12 weeks
  • Has permanent dermal filler
  • Has any planned surgical procedure 4 weeks pre or post appointment

EXPECTED OUTCOMES
  • Swelling, pain, itching, redness, bleeding and/or bruising at the treatment area which is usually resolved within one week

 

POST-TREATMENT CARE
  • Minimise excessive sun and UV exposure  
  • Avoid facial treatments such as laser and chemical peels  
  • Massage the treated area(s) gently for five minutes, five times a day for five days to reduce swelling and disperse the product evenly 
  • Apply a cool compress to the treated area to help reduce swelling 
FOLLOW-UP AND NEXT STEPS

To ensure that you are happy and that optimal results are achieved, it is recommended that you attend a review appointment and assessment. Your next treatment will be due within six to eight weeks.
