Anyone who:
- Is hypersensitive to ingredients including deoxycholic acid
- Is pregnant or breastfeeding
- Is under the age of 18
- Is diabetic
- Has vascular, autoimmune, liver or renal disease
- Is at risk of acute or chronic infection
- Has a coagulation defect
- Has a thyroid condition

Side effects are rare, but may include:
- Swelling, pain, itching, tingling or prickling, and sensitivity to pressure and excessive warmth in the treatment area which is usually resolved within two to five days
- Difficulty swallowing which is usually resolved within three days
- Bleeding and bruising/hardness at the injection site
- Headache

The treatment area will be swollen for several days post treatment as the prescribed product begins to take effect. It is fine to cover the treatment area with clothing during this time. Ice the area as needed. Paracetamol can be taken, if required.
To ensure that you are happy and that optimal results are achieved, it is recommended that you attend a review appointment and assessment.
Your next treatment will be due within six to eight weeks.
